"Con Air" gilt als einer der Action-Klassiker der 90er Jahre: Mit viel Kawumm, typischer 90er Jahre coolness und Nicolas Cage, konnte er damals immerhin weltweit 223 Millionen US-Dollar einspielen und hat bis heute seine Fans. Und nun hat sich Regisseur Simon West zu Wort gemeldet und gesagt, es könnte ein Sequel geben. Vermutlich gar im Weltraum:
"There are always rumors about a 'Con Air 2.' I would do it if it was completely turned on its head," So West "'Con Air' in space, for example – a studio version where they're all robots or the convicts are reanimated as super-convicts, or where the good guys are bad guys and the bad guys are good guys. Something shocking. If it was clever writing it could work."
Ob dies allerdings Wunschdenken ist oder das Studio wirklich an einem Sequel interessiert ist, steht bislang aus. So oder so, wäre allerdings eine Weltraum-Version reichlich trashig. Doch wir sind gespannt.
