#TheGrudge is a generic, lazy, & hilariously stupid “horror” film. The script is terrible, the jump-scares are laughable, & the pacing is SO brutal. The cinematography is...fine? Typical January horror. Why are movies like this still being made? Happy 2020! We give it a 2/10. pic.twitter.com/ZMzAXBMOR3

#TheGrudge kicks off this decade of films with what might be one of the worst horror remakes I’ve ever seen. I’m pretty sure I would of rather combed the demons hair than ever watch that movie again

#TheGrudge is excruciatingly boring, a narrative mess, and unnecessarily mean-spirited. The film eats itself in an effort to earn its R-rating. This movie is a curse on anyone who watches it. I haven’t disliked a film this much in years. Zero stars. pic.twitter.com/DkyHPlVEkN

#TheGrudge gets props for attempting to tell it’s story in a unique way, unfortunately bland scares lack of connection to the characters and uneventful plot leaves this as a dud for me.. it is better then the 2004 remake tho 🤷🏻‍♂️ pic.twitter.com/K25735USJV

It probably won’t make it onto my 2020 Favorites list but I liked the new Grudge (I have like zero affection for any of the previous movies tho so maybe that helped?). Idk, I just really dug all the character stuff. 🤷🏻‍♀️ #TheGrudge https://t.co/hOGxaFxvF8

#TheGrudge has been saddled with a messy, nonlinear narrative from the beginning and 2020 makes way better use of it than 2004. Has more of an anthology feel, and it mostly comes together quite well. Nasty little movie with a great cast. Far too reliant on jump scares, however.

Dull and derivative, the rebooted Grudge wastes a talented cast and filmmaker on watered-down scares that may leave viewers nursing grievances of their own.#TheGrudge is currently #Rotten at 21% on the #Tomatometer, with 40 reviews: https://t.co/SUB8kTkUuu pic.twitter.com/1hFukio03w

Idk how they did it, but #TheGrudge is 13 hours long. Uninspired & cliched, this is a mess of a horror film with a brand name slapped on it. I would love to see the production check list.

I loved the 2004 #TheGrudge but the 2020 version feels five times its 1.5 hour runtime, is exceedingly dull, can’t maintain any atmosphere/tension, falls back on unearned jump scares, is sadly all too predictable, & the closing credit song made me want to stab out my ear drums. pic.twitter.com/VS9aK1LL28

THE GRUDGE felt very confused. And for a movie that insisted on jumping timelines and with a steller cast at the helm.. it should have felt anything but. #thegrudge

#TheGrudge is a bit creepier than the 2004 remake, but it’s also a messy, mean spirited little film that fails to do much beyond a few decent jump scares.

#TheGrudge is my favorite film of 2020 so far!!.... Oh wait this is just the first film of the year. Oh yeah I got a lot of issues and questions of why they keep making these pointless horror remakes. pic.twitter.com/ZbmtrNT1ff

#TheGrudge: Unsurprisingly, Pesce knows his way around atmospheric horror and shadowplay on par with Wan in choice glimpses. It's a shame the narrative is such a sloppy, scattershot mess that minces tone, because there's some proper spookiness here. I'm really mixed/torn. pic.twitter.com/IV3Nj2kYfb

#TheGrudge ...fucking trash. Dammit 2020 that's how we gonna do it? Throw it all away... pic.twitter.com/bmt4Td6qng

Not shocked at how awful #TheGrudge was. A very cliché horror film lacking any kind of tension or scares choosing instead to bore you to death with its dull story. This is a horror film I wouldn't curse my worst enemy with watching pic.twitter.com/Hnit2ObyTr

Hated #TheGrudge. Worse than I’d have hoped for. All the supposed charm of the original film, drained away in favor of... boring jump scares and a waste of a half-decent cast. Poor Jacki Weaver, fun as she was for her brief stay, really didn’t need to throw her hat in. pic.twitter.com/P7C8hERFDd
