Renate Bergmann's workaholic husband is found by former employee Lars Korten in his car in the family nursery garage, apparently suicide, but autopsy shows a lethal insulin injection killed him before he was staged there. Ambitious Lars was fired for malversations and now seeks ti leave the employ of Peter and Janine Diering's rival nursery, while engaged to adult daughter Meret Bergmann. Dirty tricks were used to steal each-other's major clients.

Sandra Dünow was murdered at home, which was ransacked, yet only a valuable clock and a worthless plaster statuette, heirlooms, were stolen, the break-in was staged. Husband Mirko Dünow needs money to avert his firm's bankruptcy, say her life insurance. Sandra Dünow's former teacher and alleged stalker René Blumenthal is found lurking around, still denies the charges he was fired for. Finally there is her buddy, Ellen Steinke, actually a sneaky romantic rival.

An unidentified corpse is found in the widow Wittmeier's family farm dun heap by the dog, nearby lies an abandoned motorbike, which allows identifying him as local barkeeper Sven, he seemed to clean up his act after a pimp past in Hamburg. Allegedly only long-serving, in-living simpleton friend-farmhand Hannes Hansen was in the area at the murder time but claims he's unwell and noticed nothing. heir Achim Wittmeier and his fiancee (Fride)Rieke Maurer are suspiciously silent and irritable, but she and the bar amid are spotted on compromising videos in Sven's possession.

At Gollwitzer lighthouse is found the corpse of Birgit, run-over with her own car, which was checked at Markus Görz's garage that day and left there according to witnesses. Husband Peter Faller has no alibi, the marriage was cracking. Her monument office colleague and interim successor as supervisor, Robert Wissmann, has no alibi, but sets the team on the trail of lucrative malversations involving contractor Renate Duwe.

A day after beat cops came separate young drunk motor-biker Ruben Veit and his bike noise-fed-up senior neighbor, Veit is found beaten to death, the presumed murder weapon, a wrench, cleaned in battery acid, traces-proof. Neighbor Eddie Ochs Ochs is hand-injured but denies any part in the homicide. Ruben's smarter kid brother Moritz Veit recently replaced him as lover of siren Kiki Hartmann, daughter of clueless gas station owner Uwe Hartmann, whose van fits the noise reported by a blind neighbor.

Retired cycling champion Manfred Kroschewski is fatally ran over by his wife Beate in the follow on fan after he falls during a training ride of his starting-up triathletes school due to a sabotage custom bike, an inside job. His sons Torben and André point at former protege Uwe Solf, who rides a rickshaw after expulsion on drug suspicion, but EPO still isn't banned, prescribed for Beate's genuine disease. Natural, devoted champion Torben has an older lover against paternal policy, the only girl trainee claims to have been sexually abused.

The gentle-natured 'village idiot' says he remembers not what happened when he sailed with missing boat owner, his mentor-guardian Jens Jensen, whose wedding ring is found inside an eel. Jensen constantly rowed with brothers-in-law Heinz and Peter Strehler and got hard-handed with his wife Meike.

Lars and Lena find and apprehend Albert Klein, who can explain everything. Sophie's separated parents, firm heiress Sonja and manager Ulf Simon, disagree whether to pay ransom in secret. Only Anna's boyfriend Leander Thieme has a criminal record, and a slut housemate behind her back.

Affluent surf shop owner Stefan Moll's corpse is covered in red and yellow paint, sitting at his desk. From the open safe only his revolver seems missing. His studly, also rich gay boyfriend Djuba knows of no enemy or motive. Moll was however among the wealthy clients who shamelessly abused painter Hannes Harms's good nature to delay payment endlessly, driving him to despair. Harms got hold of Moll's revolver and is out of control, even holding debtor kin at gunpoint.

Petty farmer Tommy Steinbeck's wife Karla is murdered by a well-planned explosion in their home. There their devoted daughter Wiebke is the companion of Tommy's bed-ridden, terminally ill father, army veteran Emil, whose care is a terrible burden. The family was planning to move to Bavaria.

Museum director Mielke is skull-smashed, apparently during the robbery of a priceless medieval bible. It was an heirloom donated by Silke Bundstein, while her husband wanted to sell it and never forgave her, suspecting an affair. Mielke is succeeded by deputy Dr. Clausen, who constantly criticized him, wanting his post. Art collector and dealer Oliver Boldt met Mielke who allegedly offered to sell him to bible to clean up the museum accounts, aspiring a director's post in a larger museum.

Dr. Modersen died from an intravenous overdose of self-medicated vitamins against cell aging. Last known visitor was courier Timo Rüttgers, who bitterly blames Modersen for reporting him so as to end his health practitioner license. Patient Wolf Jürgens, a lab employee, believes Modersen's persistent false diagnoses prevented a therapy that might have prevented him becoming terminal. Traditional village baker Udo Krom's corpse hangs suspended from the roof, a staged suicide after administering a sedative. Kroms wife Elke claims he had no enemies, or knowing about his affair with younger Cindy Poguntke, whose picture he carried around, but she also has another lover. Uwe was also negotiating to sell the near-bankrupt Krom heirloom bakery to the kind of chain he openly despised, allegedly behind her back.

Small contractor Falco Binz was squashed in his stock hall by his own forklift, but it first wan run over his foot, no accident, and he was injected with a sedative. His operational deputy Roland Wutzker, who expected to become the firm's heir, points at unpaid subcontractor Frank Halstendorff, who recently had a loud row with nearly-bankrupt Binz, but claims to have found him dead already. Erwin points at the sole heir, since age 15 in-living granddaughter Laura Onnen and her fiance Ingo Schneider who want the villa.
